General
So what exactly does Tech Pantry do?
We bring together the various technologies behind hospitality venues — POS, online ordering, reservations, delivery, loyalty, reporting & more — and make it make sense. Think of us as the tech team your venue doesn’t have in-house: we choose the right tools, make them work as one system, and stay around to keep it that way.
Who is Tech Pantry for?
Independent venues and small hospitality groups — cafés, restaurants, bars and hotels that have outgrown spreadsheets and disconnected apps but don’t want to hire a full-time IT team. If your tech stack creates more work than it saves, that’s exactly who we’re looking to help.
Do you replace my current systems or work with them?
We start with what you already have. Often the right answer is connecting and configuring your existing tools properly, not replacing them. When something does need to change, we’ll tell you why, what it costs and what you get back — and you can decide.
What does Tech Pantry do?
Tech Pantry is the translator between hospitality people and hospitality technology. There are so many software platforms to help venues in our industry. But how do you know what is the best restaurant POS system to use, or even how to use it? That’s where we come in. From point of sale (POS), inventory management, time and attendance, QR ordering, delivery, CRM, music curation, reporting & more. We help make sense of it all, to build the right tech stack for your business.
Tech & integrations
Which platforms do you work with?
We work with industry leaders that cover a broad range of clients’ needs. We believe Lightspeed O Series, Lightspeed K Series and Square are the best restaurant POS in Australia. The same is true for online ordering, reservations, delivery, inventory, loyalty, rostering platforms and music curation. A full list of who we work with is under the Tools page on this website and if you use something we haven’t listed, that’s rarely a problem.
Can you make my existing systems talk to each other?
Usually, yes — that’s most of our work. For many venues their POS setup already has integrations that simply were never switched on or configured well. Where a direct integration doesn’t exist, we’ll tell you honestly what’s possible and what it would take. Often it’s not about changing POS systems if your kitchen printer isn’t working or your POS is slow — it’s about a better understanding of the systems you’ve got and making them work better.
Do I need to change my POS?
Not necessarily. The point of sale system is the heart of the stack, so we never recommend switching POS systems lightly. If yours does the job, we build around it. But if your POS system is not working to meet your needs we’ll show you exactly why it’s holding you back — with real facts in a way that makes sense.
Working with us
How long does a typical project take?
A tech audit typically takes one to two weeks. We can identify POS system problems, internet issues, why your printer is not working & more for a truly comprehensive look at your entire setup.
Implementation of a new POS system depends on scope: connecting a couple of systems can be days; a full stack rollout for a new venue is usually a few weeks.
We agree on the timeline before we start and we keep you posted throughout. Each venue is different but we work extremely quickly to get you back on track and are industry leaders for turn-around times.
Do you provide support after go-live?
Yes — that’s what makes us unique. Technology “you never have to think about” needs someone thinking about it. That’s us. We are just a phone call away for POS technical support or troubleshooting to help you get the answers you need quickly. We also can provide additional training when needed for new staff or just to brush up on your existing skills.
How do we get started?
Tell us about your venue through the contact page — what you run, what’s frustrating you, where you want to go. We’ll come back with clear next steps. No jargon, no hard sell, just an honest conversation about what’s possible.
Services & pricing
How does a project usually start?
With a tech audit: we map every system in your venue, how they talk to each other (or don’t), and what they cost you. You get a clear picture and a prioritised plan. From there you can fix things with us or on your own — the plan is yours either way.
How do you charge?
By scoped project, with a fixed price agreed before we start — no surprise hours, no lock-in contracts. Ongoing support, when you want it, is a simple monthly arrangement you can cancel anytime.
Are you tied to one specific platform?
No. Each restaurant, cafe, bar, or hotel is different and has different needs. We take a look at your venue and only recommend what would make sense for you — from the level of complexity to user-friendliness and all other metrics that apply. There is no one best restaurant POS system, best inventory management tool, or best online ordering platform. Each has different strengths and different limitations. We help explain what they are so you can decide what is right for you.
POS & hospitality software
What is a hospitality POS system?
A hospitality POS (point-of-sale) system is the technology used to manage transactions, menus, payments, orders, reporting and other day-to-day operations across restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs and other venues. Modern hospitality POS systems can also connect with accounting, inventory, online ordering, loyalty, reservations and other software.
What is the best POS system for a restaurant?
There isn’t one POS system that is best for every restaurant. The right system depends on your venue, service style, number of locations, reporting requirements, integrations, hardware and future plans. Tech Pantry helps hospitality businesses assess their requirements, select the right technology and implement it properly.
What is the best POS system for hospitality businesses?
The best hospitality POS depends on how your venue operates. Restaurants, cafés, bars, pubs, hotels and multi-venue groups can have very different requirements. Tech Pantry works with leading platforms including Lightspeed and Square and can help determine which POS and supporting technology is the right fit.
How do I choose a POS system for my restaurant?
Start with how your venue actually operates. Consider your ordering process, menu complexity, payment requirements, kitchen workflow, reporting, inventory, accounting and integrations. You should also consider how easy the system is for staff to use and how well it will scale as your business grows.
What does a POS system need to integrate with?
A hospitality POS can connect with many of the systems a venue uses every day, including accounting software, online ordering, delivery platforms, payments, reservations, loyalty, inventory and workforce management. The important thing is making sure those systems communicate correctly rather than operating as disconnected pieces of technology.

What’s the difference between Square and Lightspeed?
Square and Lightspeed are both widely used POS platforms, but they have different features, workflows, hardware options and integration ecosystems. The right choice depends on your venue and operational requirements. Tech Pantry can help you assess both platforms before making a decision.
POS integrations
What is a POS integration?
A POS integration connects your point-of-sale system with another software platform so that information can move between the two systems automatically. For example, an integration might connect your POS with online ordering, accounting, reservations, inventory or payments.

Yes. This is one of the areas where Tech Pantry can add the most value. We help hospitality businesses connect their POS, payments, ordering, accounting, inventory and other software so the technology stack works as a system rather than a collection of disconnected tools.

Yes. We can troubleshoot receipt printers, kitchen printers and other POS printing issues, including configuration, connectivity and network problems.
Can you troubleshoot POS and EFTPOS issues?

Do you provide ongoing POS support?
Yes. Tech Pantry can provide ongoing support for hospitality businesses that need someone who understands both their POS and the wider technology environment around it.
Hospitality technology
What does a hospitality technology consultant do?
A hospitality technology consultant helps a venue select, implement, connect and optimise the technology it relies on to operate. This can include POS systems, payments, ordering, inventory, accounting, networking, hardware and integrations.
Why use a hospitality technology consultant?
Hospitality technology becomes complicated when multiple systems need to work together. An experienced consultant can help you choose appropriate systems, avoid unnecessary technology, implement everything correctly and ensure the different platforms communicate properly.
Can Tech Pantry help with our entire hospitality technology stack?
Yes. Tech Pantry can help with POS, payments, hardware, networking, ordering, integrations and other operational technology. We focus on making the systems work together rather than treating each platform as a separate problem.
Do you work with multi-venue hospitality groups?
Yes. We work with hospitality businesses operating multiple venues and can help standardise POS configuration, menus, reporting, hardware, integrations and operational processes across locations.
What makes Tech Pantry different from a POS provider?
We don’t just install a POS and walk away. Tech Pantry looks at the entire hospitality technology ecosystem surrounding your venue. We help businesses implement, connect, troubleshoot and optimise the systems they rely on every day.
