How Tech Pantry was born
More than 15 years ago, Andy Gordon was running his own café in Byron Bay, Australia.
When Apple launched the iPad, Andy saw the future. It wouldn’t be long before legacy POS systems were nothing but dead weight. So he bought a few ipads, ditched the old ways and experimented with new cloud-based tools, through trial and error. Real tech, in a real working hospitality venue.
Other operators started to notice and to ask for help. Just like that Tech Pantry was born.
Ten years and 3.000+ venues later, the idea hasn't changed:
Hospitality people helping other hospitality people master new technology to do things better.
In 2026, the same idea crossed the globe.
Blanca Hidalgo arrived in Sydney 14 years earlier with a hospitality degree and a dream for something new and exciting. She learned the hospitality trade from the inside, then also mastered the technology that holds it together.
Along the way she met Andy and the team from Tech Pantry. Every conversation ended the same: people first, technology second. So she returned home to Spain and opened Tech Pantry España, now with her own team in Madrid and Barcelona.
Two countries. One rule: When the recipe for success is missing an ingredient, open the pantry.
